August Favorites

August has been a month of new beginnings. And some of them will always be unforgettable.
Here are my August Favorites:

NRI Brunch Fiesta

I love Sunday’s. The laziness of the weekend, the catching up with friends and of course Brunch. I recently discovered the most delicious and colorful Sunday Brunch at NRI in BKC. And it’s a Brunch Fiesta. Definitely one of my favorite brunches in the city. I liked it so much that I wrote a whole blog post about.

Lipstick under my Burkha

Wow. I still find it difficult to describe this movie. Powerful. Important. Rebellious. The movie takes you behind the scenes and shows you the life of four ordinary Indian women. Really. I don’t have words to describe the movie. All I can say it’s a must watch. Watch the trailer and stay tuned on my Facebook page as I will post there if I can find an English version of the movie.

Gwenda Glocalista Events

This month, I started hosting Gwenda Glocalista Events and it’s so much fun to meet you all in person and to discover Mumbai together. We started off with a unique home-dining experience at the home of chef Shital and are continuing our events with a Parsi Breakfast at BKC in September. (Do let me know what other events you would like me to organize…)

Marathi

If you are following me on Instagram, you know that I recently started learning Marathi at the Mumbai University. It’s super fun (and super confusing). I love learning new languages and after living in Mumbai for nearly 4 years, it’s about time to learn Marathi. “Maza naav Gwenda Glocalista ahe.”

Mumbai Spirit

Once again, I fell in love with Mumbai. I absolutely loved to see how strangers helped strangers and opened their houses, offices, restaurants, etc. to give shelter and food to people stranded during the heavy rains on Tuesday. This is the Mumbai Spirit that makes me feel so grateful to be part of this amazing city.
