It’s wet. It’s dark. It’s grey. Monsoon is officially back. It’s raining almost all day every day; perfect weather for a lazy Sunday brunch. Recently, I was invited to try the most delicious, colorful and beautiful brunch in the city. It was a fiesta: The Brunch Fiesta at NRI in BKC to be precise.
Honestly, I didn’t pay much attention to this restaurant at Maker Maxity in BKC before. The concept though sounded very interesting: Atul Kochhar is a twice Michelin starred chef and celebrates “global Indian” dishes at NRI (Not Really Indian). Not really Indian dishes because these are dishes that the Indian Diaspora took from India to the world and adopted and changed it over time. Chef Atul brings these dishes back to India. The menu also has a great Peruvian influence and that’s definitely a cuisine rare to find in India.
Back to the Brunch Fiesta: it was colorful, delicious and so much fun! I was part of a blogger’s table with the Food Blogger Association of India (FBAI) and we literally tried everything on the menu. My favourites being: the Indie Brit Fish, the Chorizo Taco, Ceviche (classic), the Calamar Crostillant, the Zucchini Tiradito, the Malay Butter Mushroom, and the Singaporean Chicken Curry. Well… I told you: we tried a lot!
I highly recommend you to try out the Brunch Fiesta! It’s super fun, delicious and for real: what’s better than a lazy Sunday brunch on a rainy day?
